Who Knows Tomorrow Episode 4

Two days later,
# # Jane is seen in her family sitting room seriously discussing with her parents and siblings. The atmosphere in the room looks very tense##
**Jane’s side of the story continues,**
‘’there is no other option now than to get rid of the girl before it gets late. We have to act now. This is serious and if it isn’t handled properly the whole family could end up in jail’’ dad breathed softly as he stared at the DNA result for the umpteenth time. Yes everyone looked scared. We all knew what could happen if Isadora discovers the truth. My life and every one of us in the family would be a mess. There wasn’t any doubt the only solution was to get rid of the girl as soon as possible.
‘’we have a good plan already’’ I breathed with a nervous smile.
‘’getting rid of Isadora won’t be easy as long as she’s in that house. So the best way is to get her out of the house first and I’m working on it already’’ I added while my mother smiled to encourage me.
‘’yes so tell us how far you have gotten?’’ dad asked curiously.
‘’I plan convincing Val my fiancĂ©e to take me out on a little vacation and before we leave, I will hide some of my jewelries’ plus some of my mother in law’s stones inside the girl’s bag. Then a day after I would call my mother in law on phone and report my missing stuffs to her. She won’t have any choice than to search Isadora’s bag where she would discover both her things and mine. She won’t hesitate to kick the girl out of the house and mum as usual would be there to pick her up. Mum will offer to help her find another place and then take her away’’ I narrated confidently while my brothers listened and nodded in delight.
‘’that’s a good plan but I hope it works out very well’’ dad breathed in resignation.
‘’yes that’s the only easy way we can have her back in our hands without raising suspicion’’ mum answered.
‘’yes and I know how everyone in that house behaves. I can assure you it will work perfectly’’ I assured him.
‘’so what do we do with the girl when you get her back? ‘One of my brothers asked
‘’get rid of her of course. Your men can handle that’’ mum quickly replied, looking straight at dad.....

If you missed:
**Isadora’s side of the story continues from the previous episode**
Seeing Val once again really made my heart blow in an unimaginable way but unfortunately we met the second time in a much tougher circumstance and I had no choice than to pretend not to recognize him, wishing he did the same but no he came after me with the slightest opportunity he got. I liked him, yes I felt something for him but the last thing I was ready to do was fall for him. I was in his house to work and nothing else moreover he was engaged to the daughter of the woman that rescued me from uncertainty and the last thing I wanted was paying her back with evil.
After telling Val my mind that afternoon I had hoped he wasn’t going to disturb me again but I was mistaken because he came right back for me again later in the evening, showing up at the kitchen as I was doing the dishes after dinner .
‘’what again’’ I breathed with despair as I turned to face him. He smiled and drew close but unfortunately and unknown to him, his fiancĂ© Jane was following behind and if not that she was talking on phone as she walked in, perhaps she would have caught him off guard. Something I never wanted to experience.
‘’hmmm sweety what are you doing here?’’ Jane asked suspiciously, pocketing her phone.
‘’ I came to drop a glass that needed washing’’ Val effortlessly lied, smiled and left, leaving Jane and I alone. I nervously continued with my work as she stared at me for some seconds.
‘’you know there is something about you that makes me a bit uncomfortable but please don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against you’’ she breathed politely, trying hard to...

*Isadora’s side of the story continues*
‘’fine I will take my chances. I will leave your house right now’’ I confidently breathed, surprising Obiora with my decision. He scratched his head as he stared at me with disbelief.
‘’you want to sleep outside?, I guess you don’t know the kind of danger lurking outside. This isn’t your village’’ he persisted while I shrugged.
‘’yes I have no choice. Sleeping with you is as good as getting raped. Thanks for the things you have done for me already’’ I muttered, went for my old bag, grabbed it and headed back to the door.
‘’wait’’ he softly said, stopping me.
‘’you can sleep here tonight. Just forget about what I asked for. Early tomorrow you can leave and go where ever you want. But I can assure you that you will never meet anyone kinder than me, or anyone willing to help you like I did. The country is hard’’ he muttered in resignation, fell back on his bed, backed me and faced the wall not caring if I stayed or not.
I stared at him for a while as my heart pounded furiously. Yes I was relieved and happy that he changed his mind but I equally was scared he could change his mind again much later in the night and come for me.
After standing and staring at him for few minutes, I nervously dropped my bag on the floor, laid down and waited for morning. I eventually slept but it was far from a normal good night rest.
As early as 5am the next morning, I picked up my things ready to leave.
‘’come on don’t be such in a hurry. I’m not going to hurt you. Wait till at least 6am before leaving’’ I heard Obiora say softly. I turned to face him, surprised that he was very much awake.
‘’good morning sir’’ I stammered.
‘’you can even go take your bath’’ he suggested with a smile while I gave him a very suspicious look.
‘’don’t worry thank you’’ I stammered.
‘’you are definitely going to regret not accepting my proposal. I offered you a very sincere relationship plus a

Who Knows Tomorrow Episode 1

Val’s side of the story

Driving down the lonely hills of Nsukka after a very extensive research work for my new book, I was very tired and a bit restless as I planned my schedules for the weekend without concentrating much on my driving. Walking down absentmindedly on the middle of the same road was this young girl with an empty tray on her head. I never saw her on time and almost knocked her down if not for my powerful brakes which screeched the car to stop just hairs breathe away from her. Out of shock, the tray on the young lady’s head fell and rolled over to the gutter while I rushed out of the car to see if she was alright. She turned to look at me that moment and it was as if the world came to a stop as our eyes met.
Before me was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She wore no makeup, she was sweating, her clothes were far from elegant but yet her beauty overshadowed it all. It was as if I was standing before the Nigerian version of Cinderella.
‘’I’m sorry I wasn’t paying much attention but you were equally walking in the middle of the road. Hope you are okay?’’ I nervously asked as I headed to the gutter to pick up her tray. She nodded with eyes filled with tears, quickly collected the tray for me and drew backwards.
‘’I’m sorry for almost putting you in trouble. Forgive me’’ she breathed fluently, surprising me with her English. But before I could say anything further she was already walking down the road.
‘’my name is valentine, can I, can I drop you where ever you are going?’’ I stammered. I couldn’t even believe myself. It was my first time of offering a lift to a stranger. But unfortunately she gave me no reply, neither did she stop for a second. Hesitantly I headed back to my car and
